About Us

Kajita Candles began in February 2008.

After purchasing a soy candle at a local Melbourne market our fascination began. How could a candle smell so nice? How could the fragrance spread so well? A week later we had our first delivery of raw materials and began making our first soy candles. We used them ourselves and gave some to family and friends.

It was not long before our friends suggested we start selling them at markets and before we knew it we were attending markets and creating a website. We then got some interest from a couple retail stores and some wholesale orders.

A year on and the birth of our first child we  found we very rarely got to see our dining table - always covered in candles. People visit and are amazed when they come into our house of the mixed aromas.

We began updating our website to improve our customers experience and interaction with us online. Much to our excitement we sent our first international order to a retail store in Japan.

We have experimented with different fragrances, colours and waxes before deciding soy wax was the way to go. Soy wax is 100% natural allowing a cleaner longer lasting burn. This enables our candle's fragrance to be more effective.

We use only High Quality Fragrant Oils and 100% Pure Essential Oils. Our fragrant oil candles tend to spread throughout several rooms, whereas our 100% essential oil range have a more mild and aroma-theraputic scent throw.

Having looked around for various glassware, we decided to stock sizes that could hold wax ranging from 140grams to 300grams in both a clear and frosted glass jar.  We also stock candles in a Premium Travel Tin as well as Wax Melts.  Upon the birth of our second child and with our first running around we decided to stock Reed Diffusers as an alternative to using candles.

We continue to take on board our customers feedback and have slowly increased our product range. It is becoming an enjoyable challenge, balancing our regular work, looking after our young boys whilst making candles and growing our business.
